Hostage!

Today I was held hostage by a broadhead skink (lizard) for two hours in the house. I won't go into the details of the long process of getting it out of the house but I will say that I was terrified! Turns out I had a right to be terrified. This is largest species of lizards in our region (up to 13" avg. length)!!!! For whatever reason, these skinks are often referred to as "scorpions" although their BITE is nonpoisonous. (boy am I glad I didn't have to touch this lizard today to get it out of the house....of course I did have huge yard gloves on anyway).

I hope we NEVER get another lizard in our house again! It was awful!

P.S. This isn't the lizard that was in my house - it was actually BIGGER. I found this picture on the internet just to put a picture to the post (and for everyone to actually see what terrified me today and caused me to act like a 5 year old girl...the lizard in the house today was at least 10" and I wouldn't doubt that it was 12")

Hey girl...I so enjoyed dinner on Monday. I hope your recital went well. Let's get together before another 6 months. Wait, by then it will be the wedding! I can't wait that long! :-) Call me when you are in the upstate.
