Well, I'm behind on the football run down - things have been insane this week (why does a long weekend holiday ALWAYS mess things up?!?!?!)
Byrnes played Ridgeview on Thursday. I took the boys - what a mistake. Wait - I take that back. The mistake was showing up an hour before kick off. But you see - that wasn't my choice. Byrnes fans are fanatics. If you're going to watch them play, you always plan to show up early to get a seat. Mom and Dad were afraid the seating would be limited so we packed up and got there an hour before kickoff. The entire time before the game was good - other than Nolan being glued to me. Peyton was an angel. But at the end of the first quarter, our wheels came off. Peyton decided he wanted to go potty. Fine. I took him to the potty (halfway across the entire stadium). Of course he didn't potty. We got back to our seats. "Mommy I need to potty." Seriously?!?!?!? We went back to the "potty room" (as Peyton called it) and Peyton actually went potty this time. We got halfway back and he told me he wanted to potty again. (he does this when he needs to poop - sorry if tmi but hey...this is my world) He didn't potty. So we leave again and we get halfway and he tells me he needs to potty again. This time I said no. I was EXHAUSTED. I was a sweaty mess - the humidity was horrible not to mention half the time he wanted me to carry him (he's afraid of heights and when we would pass stairs it seemed to mess with his equilibrium and he would immediately drop to his knees...I digress). For almost the entire second half Peyton kept telling me (pretty loudly) that he needed to potty. I was seriously irritated. I had rode to the game with my mom and dad and at that moment I leaned over to mom and said, "If I had my car, I would leave." I meant it, too. My brother Andy and his wife Ginger had come to the game, too, and she drives a suburban (or expedition) and my mom said for me to take the kids home and they would get Andy and Ginger to bring them to my house to get their car and they would go home from there. I didn't want to take their car - I felt bad about leaving them without a vehicle. But as I looked at Nolan's glassy eyes and saw Peyton underneath the bench screaming, "I got to go potty!" I decided I should take the offer and go. And we did. Nolan was asleep in less than 2 miles and Peyton played with a flashlight the entire way home. It was bliss to be home. Byrnes was winning anyway and I just couldn't endure the 2nd half with the boys. I was glad it was over. So - I don't remember the score but Byrnes won. (Corrie - I looked for you before I left but you weren't at your seat - it was great to see you. Hopefully we can catch up at another game soon)
Swansea 16 - North 21
This game was at the same time as the Byrnes/Ridgeview game and I sadly picked to go to the Byrnes game over the Swansea game (I know I lose good wife points for ditching Trey's game). All Trey said after was the game was, "we're terrible." Next week they play Batesburg Leesville and he said they are going to get slaughtered. I might stay home, then.
Carolina vs. Vanderbilt - Well, I saw the end of the game and all I can say is (while shaking my head) "Carolina, carolina, carolina....." Need I say more?
I haven't paid attention to any other scores this weekend. It's been SO busy with Trey turning 30 and all so forgive me. And next week - forgive me, too. My SIL, Lizz, is turning 40 and I'm helping throw the party (food, decorations, etc) so I am going to be totally tied up. Plus, my boss is riding with me Mon-Wed so it's gonna be hectic.
But as always - Go Tigers (Swansea, of course), Go Rebels, Roll Tide, Go Gamecocks, and go Chiefs! (and by the way - I saw a breaking news headline that Tom Brady got seriously injured while playing the Chiefs today)

hey Kelly! it was good to see you too. I went and got a drink and some candy "half way across the stadium" around the time you prob were walking back and forth. I also moved up a row to sit beside a friend from work (Allison Martin's aunt). Hope to see you again soon!
Reading your story about the game made me tired. I feel your pain ... I've had plenty of experiences running back and forth to the potty a million times. Oh the joys of potty training!
