Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, my friends! 2009 started off amazing. We decided what better than to spend the entire day with our kids? I got up and made pancakes for everyone, we lounged for a bit, then I made a chicken casserole for lunch and then we headed off to the Waterfall neighborhood to play on their pirate playground (shh....don't tell anyone). The boys LOVE the pirate playground. Thankfully we were the only people there so they got to do whatever they wanted to. Nolan and Peyton both conquered their fears and walked up the bridge (after going up the ladder initially). Then they started sliding down the slide backwards and face first. Trey was declaring an emergency trip but thankfully we didn't have any accidents. Then we went to the lake Murray Par Three and checked out the location for a possible birthday location for the boys. We loved it! Trey is calling to confirm a date today but it's great - putt putt for the kids, with a building for the party/cake and if the male adults want to - they can go on the driving range. Trey is more excited than I am which is nice since he never gets excited about the party. After we left Thunder Falls (party place), we headed home. Nolan was asleep so Trey stayed with him and watched football (poor Trey, right?) And Peyton and I went on a date! I took Peyton to the movie theater for his very first movie!!! He was an angel. We went to see the Tale of Despereaux which he seemed to like. He really loved the kids snack pack - popcorn, "kepsi" and candy. We went by Walgreens and got some Christmas things 75% off, then home, then back to Walmart to return our RedBox movies and get more, and then he insisted on one more store so we went to the other Walgreens where we found a Thomas Train movie 75% off. So we went home, played Thomas Train and called it a day. It was the best day I could have imagined. I'm hoping to have many more memorable moments with the kids this year. That's my resolution. Pictures will follow!
