Happy Valentine's Day to Me!

Yesterday, Trey and I had the day off. We had planned for it to be our "Valentine's Day" time together. But I woke up that morning with a call from my mom saying that "daddy Gene" had died (this isn't my dad - he and his wife took care of us while my parents worked). So, it pretty much ruined the day. I wanted to stay in bed all day but I decided that it would be best to go out and about. I had originally wanted to go and see Confessions of a Shopaholic and have lunch at Za's. Trey and I weren't exchanging gifts this year - we bought the kids some toys instead. I ended up seeing the movie that weekend (which was great) so we didn't do it Monday. But we did go to Za's and boy was it yummy! But on the way to Za's we noticed that Birds on a Wire had closed down and that was one of my FAVORITE restauraunts. I was totally bummed. But after lunch I knew I didn't want to go home - Trey asked me what I wanted to do. I asked if he would take me to His House (thrift store) - he agreed. It was the best idea EVER! You won't believe what I found and fell in love with!

Check Out this chair!!!!
It was $15 and in amazing condition!!!!

And look how perfectly it is going to work with the scheme I put together in one of my last posts!!! This chair was just waiting on me....I just know it!

I was happy as a lark. Trey was still looking around and saw some 70's looking chairs that were pretty cool (if you imagine them slipcovered or reupholstered). We asked how much they were - the guys response, "Well, that's the junk pile. If you want them they are free."

So, here are the beauties that came from that! Granted they are rough looking but we are hoping to have a frog or play/media room and aren't these the perfect size for plopping in front of the tv to play the wii on or something like that for a kid or an adult? We need to have the seat cushions remade and they need new fabric but I really see some potential.

What a great trip to His House! :-) Happy Valentine's Day to me! 3 chairs and $15 spent...can't beat that!
