Hootie & the Blowfish - the Ballet

Today Trey and I went to the Koger Center to see Hootie & the Blowfish, the Ballet. It was awesome! I bought the tickets last minute and I bought the cheapest ones since it wasn't a planned expense. I was hoping that we could move up to empty seats if there were any. We got seated right as the show was starting and we certainly were in the nose bleed section. I was wishing that I had bought the medium level tickets but what could I do at that point? The first half of the show was a walk through the life of the band members up until they were signed with a recording contract. And then there they were! It was such a tease as the curtain closed!

Trey and I remained seated during intermission - I didn't have to use the bathroom so there was no real reason to leave. And while we were just chatting one of the workers came to us and told us that we could go to the lower level if we wanted to since there were empty seats! Cha-ching! I could not have been any happier! We were getting to sit in the orchestra seats at nosebleed seat prices! The show finally started and wouldn't you know- Hootie and the Blowfish played from the Orchestra pit! We had AMAZING seats!!! I was having the best time ever. They played so many songs but not nearly enough! Trey and I have seen them in concert several times so this was just another treat! And we've both been wanting to see a ballet so what better than a ballet about the band?

Here are some pictures I took! And by the way - as we were in the car leaving to go pick up the boys from Winnsboro we turned the corner and there was Darius with his wife and two kids! I waved to him like a lunatic fan - HE WAVED BACK! I was happier than I could stand! And I'm sure he thought I was a complete dork but whatever. I love Darius b/c when he sings it takes me back to the time when Trey and I started dating. So he's a superstar to me. And I'm going to wave and act like a lunatic if I want to! :-)
