Well, after I recently purchased a ton of 2T pants for Peyton to make it through the winter, I noticed his pants looked a tad bit short. I sort of panicked and insisted that the 2T fit just fine. Every day he would wear his 2T's and I just stared at them telling myself (but not accepting) that they were TOO SHORT. So, I looked at some 3T pants while I was out shopping one day. Those things looked a mile long and I was certain Peyton wouldn't be able to wear them. I was wishing at that point that they made a size 2 1/2T....but they don't. Before Thanksgiving, I was in Old Navy (who knows why...I hardly ever go there). I ventured my way back into the baby/toddler section because I never enter a store without seeing if they are having any sales on kids clothes. Of course, their jeans were 2 for $22. Not a bad deal I thought. So, I bought two pair of 3T's for Peyton. The whole way home I kept telling myself that I wasted my time and would have to return them. I got home, tried them on Peyton and you know what? THEY FIT. I couldn't believe it. I've been sending my child out all over town in high waters. I guess I didn't realize that his legs are as long as they are. Last year, his legs were on the short side so we were always behind a size in pants (but never tops) and it looks like we are ahead this year! So, I'm going to have to put away the 8-10 pair of khakis and jeans that I just bought in 2T. THANK GOODNESS Nolan will be able to wear them next year. THAT IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE BIGGEST PERKS OF HAVING KIDS NEARLY A YEAR APART! This is also a lesson to myself (and any other moms out there) that just because your child is 2 - he/she will not wear that size clothing. I mean- you'd think I would know that...Peyton has been wearing 3T tops for a while now. I guess I just figured if he was 2, he would wear 2T pants. I'm an idiot and could have potentially wasted a lot of money. I really need to stop "stocking up" on things assuming that they will fit through the season. Silly me...lesson learned!
