Wrestling

Last Thursday we went to Newberry College to see a wrestling match. One of Trey's coaching buddies is on the staff at Newberry so we took the kids to see some action! I had never been to a wrestling match so it was a bit unusual for me. I always pictured a quiet gym with total concentration - kind of like golf. But the gym was dark, all but a spotlight over the mat. And music was blaring in the gym. Along with the guy on the microphone who was giving some commentary. The dark gym terrified Nolan. I ended up having to hold him near the entrance. For some reason he was ok as long as we were standing near the door. Peyton kept walking from the bleachers over to me and then back. I guess the wrestling wasn't interesting enough for him. We had a great time but we certainly realize now (after a few other occasions with Nolan) that he is in that "I'm scared" phase. He's afraid of everything. I remember going through this with Peyton so I know it's only short lived but it's pretty irritating also. But we had a great time together as a family....better than sitting at home and doing nothing!
