The boys

Well, this past weekend was a real treat. We split the boys up and headed to different places for the weekend. Nolan and I went to Spartanburg to hang out with my mom and dad. Peyton & Trey went to Pinehurst to help Mamaw and Papoo move. Surprisingly, it was a very peaceful weekend. For some reason the boys are better when they are apart. I guess they have no one to fight with! I only had to fuss at Nolan two times and it was such a stress-free weekend. But the weekend got me thinking about what the boys are up to these days and I thought I would share.

Peyton at almost 4:

  • Is very good on his tricycle. He was a standout at bicycle day last week. His teacher, Ms. Myra, was very impressed.
  • Loves fruit. He ate an entire quart of strawberries on Sunday.
  • His new favorite show is Kai Lan.
  • His best friends at school are Kendall and Logan.
  • Wears 5T jeans and they are almost too short.
  • Has very smelly armpits. (Is it too early for deoderant?)
  • Calls sprite "kepsi water."
  • Gets frustrated easily.
  • Loves monster trucks.
  • Just recently went to a birthday party at a bounce house and got on all of the blow up things (which is huge because he has always been terrified).
  • Is very concerned with those around him. He is very sensitive to others.
  • Finally won musical chairs at school!
  • Has started standing up for himself and quit being so timid.
  • Loves toy day at school every Wednesday.
  • Doesn't like to step in dirt.
  • Insists on always wearing a jacket and it has to be zipped.
  • Likes to pull his mattress off of his bed and pretend it is a slide.
  • Sometimes stutters when he is very excited about something.
  • Is not a morning person.
  • Thinks that the chair and a half is "his" so you better not sit there.
  • Loves to go to "town" and shop in stores with mommy.
  • Loves Lightning McQueen and the Cars movie.

Nolan at almost 3:
  • Loves puzzles and is very good at them.
  • Has to have his "bankie" at naptime/bedtime.
  • Has started to show interest in the potty and has used it many times over the last week.
  • His favorite show is the Wonder Pets.
  • Still screams "daddy" to me when I pick him up from school.
  • Cookies are his favorite food. He asks for them daily.
  • Will basically only drink milk. We go through many gallons a week.
  • Has a large amount of patience. Especially when trying to figure things out.
  • Loves sweet potatoes with marshmallows.
  • Always wants to be wearing shoes. He sometimes even sleeps in them.
  • Has recently started talking to himself.
  • Hates wearing a coat.
  • Loves to read books (but most always they are upside down).
  • His hair grows so fast it has to be cut almost every 2 weeks.
  • Would wear Crocs everyday if we let him.
  • Is not a morning person.
  • Thinks that half of the couch is his "bed" and no one else is allowed to sit there.
  • Has started sleeping with his bear (aka "baby")
  • Likes to copy whatever Peyton is doing.
  • Loves to be tickled.
  • Cannot figure out how to pedal his tricycle.
  • Hates having his hair washed.
