Puppets are kinda creepy

Peyton's class went to the Marionette Theater today. And I must admit - I'm kind of creeped out by marionette puppets. We saw Beauty and the Beast and it started with a witch casting a spell on the prince and it was very dark and scary. A handful of kids started screaming. If I were a kid, I would have cried, too. It was a little frightening!

The show ran about 15 minutes too long. The poor kids were getting restless. I had a bad seat on the side so I couldn't see most of the stage so it was pretty boring to me since I wasn't getting the whole affect. But after the show ended, the kids clapped and we got to go behind the stage and see how it all works. That was actually pretty cool. After the backstage tour, we got to go and play with our own puppets! Peyton got a frog and thought it was neat. Ms. Myra bought the class a little monkey marionette and the kids were thrilled! Peyton kept asking to see the monkey on the way back to school.

So the sad part of the day was when we were loading the bus at the school. Peyton hopped on the bus with his friends - I was the last to board. And do you think my precious son saved me a seat so I could sit beside him? ABSOLUTELY NOT! He sat beside his best buddy Kendall (who is to his right in the group shot). I had to sit by myself! Just a little reminder that my first born is growing up on me...his friends are becoming cooler than 'mom.' *tear, tear, sniffle, sniffle*
