My recommendations of the week

Last week while shopping in Publix, an item on my grocery list was chicken nuggets. Trey eats more chicken nuggets than McDonalds serves in a day (it seems). So, anyhow - if you buy chicken nuggets you know how ridiculously expensive they are. So, being the thrifty shopper that I am (which has only happened recently when I finally put myself on a grocery budget) I ran across some chicken nuggets that were BUY ONE GET ONE FREE. At publix, that means you get it half price (I hate the stores that say BOGO but you have to get both - you can't get one at half price....I digress). I never get much feedback on the nuggets that I buy. I think Trey knows I buy the ones on sale. He never complains but he never raves over them either. But not this time - this time he loved them! Of course this conversation about the nuggets came on a Tuesday which was the last day of that particular sale. After dance class I headed to Publix and bought the last 6 bags that they had!!! The guys at the register thought I was crazy but I'm in there all the time - I joked and told them that my husband was very hungry. :-)

So I say all of that to say this - these chicken nuggets not only taste great...THEY ARE HEALTHY! Go figure! Of all the fattening chicken nuggets I have bought, Trey liked the healthiest ones the best! In a large bag there are 8 servings and each serving is only 2 g. fat! You go look at the nutritional facts on most chicken nuggets and you will soon learn that this is amazing! And the best part of the nuggets is that they have a fairly crunchy breading on them. They aren't soggy like most and I like to dip them in the O'Charley's Lite Honey Mustard Dressing (that I've only been able to find at Bilo) which is only 2g. fat, too (I think...don't quote me). I do know that 2 tbsp. of it on weight watchers is only 1 pt. It's great for Salads and chicken nuggets!

So, here are my grocery finds if you're in the market for some healthy food for your hubby or the kiddos.

Pilgrim's Pride Eat Well Stay Healthy Kids Popcorn Chicken (found in the meat dept. of Publix) O'Charleys Reduced Fat Honey mustard Dressing (found in the produce section of Bilo)
